There are 12 friends which can be used to represent the 12 months of the year too. You can style and decorate them with cloth and natural materials or simply leave plain and let your imagination do the rest.

A unique characteristic of Grimms wooden toys is the velvety surface resulting from the use of colour glaze that penetrates into the wood, leaving a matte finish rather than a glossy one. The individual pieces are dipped by hand into the stain and Grimms intentionally do not put a final protective coating on it to preserve the positive characteristics of the wood. This method guarantees that toys stack more easily with greater play possibilities, and children feel and experience the wood fibres and structure while playing.

From time to time colour transfer will result in new products that carry some excess colour pigments. Grimms recommend wiping the transferred surface with a wet, lint-free cloth to remove colour pigments.
